Thanks for responding. I seem to have a vicious cycle going between apnea and weight gain. I believe the weight gain to be a direct result of the apnea. When first diagnosed with severe apnea I was 15 pounds above my ideal weight. The cycle seems to work like this:

the less restful my sleep = the less exercise I can sustain
the less exercise I can sustain = weight gain
weight gain = the less restful my sleep

Tests have shown that I have very narrow airways. Please provide more information regarding non-steroidal anti-inflammatories so that I may educate my doctor. He told me yesterday that nothing was available that would mimic the positive affects I received from the steroids and is leaning toward surgical remedies.
