new cpap user

Posted by Dan on January 21, 1998 at 08:21:01:

I have only been on cpap for one week. Generally I feel more rested especially when I first wake up. I am also more aware of dreaming. I still feel a little bit fatigued and sleepy during the day, but not nearly as much as before cpap. Is this normal? What should I be experiencing with cpap? What changes should I be looking for to make sure it is working as it should be? I have some apnea and hpopnea. Sometimes I wake up (not often) wondering if the machine is on. Is this normal? Does it mean that the pressure is not high enough.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can someone please tell me who makes the Phantom Gel mask, I hear it is good. I am having trouble getting a comfortable fit with the mask.
Thanks.
