I have just been diagnosed with a degenerated disc in my neck. I understand this can cause the arms to fall asleep, go numb and weakness. My diagnosis came from a spine specialist and I am going to physical therapy to improve my posture so that I, hopefully, will not aggrivate the problem any more with my bad posture.
You may check out that possibility, I often wake in the night with my arms asleep too.
