viruses

I had chicken pox about one year ago and ever since have had problems with my sleep. My sleeping patterns have gone from one night to several nights without sleep, even though I feel tired I just cannot fall asleep until the early hours of the morning (3 or 4). The next day is terrible because I have to go to work and struggle to get through the day. What makes it worse is not knowing if I will be able to sleep the next night.
My M.D.reckons that the disorder was caused by chicken pox and as it may be related to a virus it is virtually untreatable. The only thing she has been able to prescibe to me has been sleeping tablets which are really hit and miss.
Has anybody ever heard of chicken pox being related to sleeping disorders and can you suggest some cure or treatment that may alleviate the problem, Im sure Im not the only person that this has happened to!
