Posted by jenny on November 15, 1997 at 18:44:26:PLS NOTE: I MADE A MISTAKE ABOUT THE EMAIL ADDRESS ON THE PREVIOUS MESSGAE--THIS ONE IS THE CORRECT ONE!!! SORRY
My mother is suffering from restless leg syndrome, and she can"t get any relief. She has had this condition for more than 30 years; on a good night, she sleeps around 4-5 hours. She has tried various methods to get relief, including aspirin, quinine, 222s (this seems her only relief). Her doctor thinks she has a pyschological problem--that it is all in her head. I msut say that she's not the most compliant person either when it comes to staying with a recommended course of advice.
Is there anyone who has some concrete ideas aboutt what she can do? She is miserable and feels there is no hope. (She is 74 years old, and is now taking care of my father who now has a set of chronic, serious health problems.) If someone could talk to her, share their experiences--preferably about how they overcame this problem! that would be a wonderful Christmas present!
I hope there is someone who can provide some help.
Thank you.
