Tough question. Few studies have been done on this subject. The only study I know of was with Long Haul Airline Pilots who constantly change there sleeping pattern and usually do not get enough sleep. The results of the study showed that they had a shorter life expectancy. I would predict the blueing around your eyes would get better just from getting more quality sleep. That is if you do not have a sleeping disorder. There has been studies on people who have quit smoking and it was found that some damage to the lungs was reversed. Does this mean wrinkles could go away, can't say but I would predict it could help. As for mental alertness it has been shown that sleep deprivation decreases mental alertness, mood, etc. which should all improve with adequate sleep.

Give more sleep a try and let us what changes take place.
