There are studies that have used reaction time and memory test to measure the effects of sleep deprivation. Reaction time can be set up on a computer with a small software program. The difficulty is how to do the analysis. The memory test may be the easiest way to go. You should be able to find some validated ones in the library. They are usually quick and simple. We do have memory lapses when we are sleep deprived. So you wouild do the test with and without sleep deprivation and compare the results.
