Sleep Center: Time/money wasted. Ten minute pre-"counseling" doctor's bill: $165. Then, sleepless night, wired up, freezing in the hospital. Bill not yet rendered but certainly more than the a suite at the Waldorf. Post-"counseling bill: $65. Diagnosis: apnea. Recommendation: see EENT specialist. Possible that my uvula's too big. Thanked sleep doctor for noticing. No EENT.

Solved problem my way. Tennis ball taped to back of nightshirt to keep me off my back. Band Aid from nose to chin to keep mouth closed during sleep. Result: no dry mouth. No noise complaint from wife. I'll live with my large uvula. Makes good bar talk.
