I had a UPPP with tonsilectomy a few years ago. I also couldn't tolerate CPAP as it gave me headaches every morning. After six months I had to go back on CPAP, but the surgery cleaned the airways up and I could tolerate CPAP. By the way I now use BiPAP and it's even more comfortable for high pressures. I was off work for 3 weeks, but raring to go after 2 weeks.
