Has anyone heard of this sleep disorder?

Posted by Mike on November 19, 1997 at 03:41:54:

My sleep problem is as follows:

I don't know if this is a sleep disorder or
not. Perhaps it is a symptom of another problem.

My average sleep time length is between 9 to 11 hours, my average waking time is 15-17 hours.

As you can see, the extremes cause a natural
"rotating schedule". That is, if I fall asleep
at 10pm on Monday, wake at 8am on Tuesday, I will
not be able to fall asleep until at LEAST 11pm
on Tuesday night, and the shift continues. If
I try to wake up to "correct" the cycle, I feel
extremly tired and it lasts most of the day.

Any suggestions? I've seen my PCP about this.
His diagnosis left me un-satisfied ( i.e. "Just
get to bed sooner"). Was considering going to
a sleep disorder clinic, but dont have thousands
laying around just for them to tell me that.
