Posted by Andrea Fehl on November 20, 1997 at 16:52:36:Hi,
I don't know if I'm writing to the right people, however, I'm asking for your help. It has been suggested that my brother-in-law has sleep apnea. I don't know what the symptoms are. He has been to several hospitals to no avail. Each hospital releases him home although he is exhibiting the following symptoms:
Temporary and total memory loss
severe headache
fatigue
loss of motor skills (trouble walking, talking and feeding himself)
anxiety
suicidal (temporarily)Just this past weekend, he stopped breathing and was taken to the hospital and then released home again. I'm afraid that we are simply running into the problem of Dr's not knowing how to diagnose his problem. He has had EEG and MRI testing done and they have found no tumors or anything significantly wrong. Then someone suggested that this sounds like sleep apnea - he does have disrupted breathing and sometimes stops breathing when he sleeps. If you have any information,or can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
We live outside of Knoxvilel, Tennessee.
Please respond to afehl1430@aol.comThank you.
