night terrors and day time behaviour

i have a nine year old son who has had severe night terrrors since the age of two, at four his day time behaviour changed and at the start mimicked his n.t. both have continued to get worse occurring nightly and daytime behaviour more volitile, the only medication that helped nt was effecor, but hid day time behaviour got more vilolent. my question is can night terrors affect daytime behaviour, we have felt that from the start. he wakes 1-1/2 hour after sleep and wakes up screaming and running through the house in terror for 5-15 min with total amensia we need advice and help or some direction to take for this child
