There is a posting on Sleep Forum1 stating that sleep disorders are covered under the Americans with Disability Act. I not sure what that means but I do know with most companies, even airlines, if an employee has a sleep disorder and is complying to treatment they cannot be fired. Even pilots have Sleep Apnea and keep flying as long as they comply to treatment. They will be checked to see how they are doing from time to time but with a normal job as long as you are being treated, which means you have been diagnosed and using your treatment plan and it is working, no more falling asleep on the job, you probably cannot be fired. However if the treatment is not working and you keep sleeping on the job, quickly go back to where you were treated and let them know something is wrong and let them make an adjustment in your treatment to where it is working so your stay awake through work.
