Posted by Bob Holbert on November 23, 1997 at 03:31:36:I am a 35 year old living in Canberra, Australia, who has been diagnosed as a severe OSA suffer and I have been using a CPAP machine with a nasal mask for nearly two years. I have only today discovered this forum and would like to commend its creators and the participants.
I have two questions in regard to which I would appreciate some information. Firstly, I have seen reference to a BiPAP machine, as opposed to a CPAP machine - what is the difference? Secondly, I have recently seen reference and read some material on the bulletin board regarding a dental appliance which could be used to alleviate OSA - it sounds too good to be true. I find the CPAP machine not too inconvenient but activities like camping require a damn long extension cord.
