Sleeping too heavily??

For as long as I can remember I have been the envy of my family and friends given my ability to sleep through anything (phone, lawnmower, vacuum cleaner). My mother will tell the story of the day she brought me home from the hospital when I slept for 18 solid hours before waking to eat, only to return to sleep for another 8 hours. Now at 31 yrs old, this story is not so funny. I typically require 9-10 hours of sleep per night. Even then, however, I will not hear an alarm clock (thank god for my mother and now my fiance).I typically do not move in my sleep. The position I assume upon going to sleep (sometimes on my back, sometimes on my side/stomach)will be the position I awake in. I do not snore, and am probably only 5-7 lbs overweight. I hardly EVER remember dreaming. Upon finally getting out of bed, I have a difficult time walking and tend to bump into things. I typically never feel refreshed upon waking (even after 10-12 hours), and the intense grogginess lasts for several hours (sometimes I don't remember anything of my hour long commute.
However, by approximately 11:00am, I am awake, alert, and typically never feel overly tired during the day. By 10:00 pm, I tend to get tired, and fall asleep within minutes of getting into bed. Does anyone else have a similar profile? What the heck is my problem?
