Posted by Ronny Thompson on January 28, 1998 at 07:07:39:I realize answers here are not medical advise however I'm in a "managed care" system which are not known for full disclosures nor does mine allow 2nd oppenons my first sleep study showed 90 plus events or apneas per hour with blood oxygen drooping to 60% of normal (the lowest the monitor will record), CPAP was recommended and has been a great help butt the 2nd study under CPAP at 26cm water found I was still having an average of 12 to 13 events per hour and blood oxygen going to 80% of normal. My doctor says this is adequate treatment my question is of coarse is it or to phrase it better if these results were from someone's first study would treatment be indicated?
Is their nonobstructive apnea?
Is their treatment for it?
Is it a signal of larger problems?
