I have a similar sleep profile and my M.D. (specialties in sleep, pulmonology, & critical care) did not think I was "adequately treated" when I had a better correction than you describe. I would get a second opinion - I hope there is a way around the HMO issue for you - and go to someone certified as a specialist in sleep disorders. Yes, there is a "nonobstructive apnea" = "central sleep apnea". I don't know much about this type or the treatment - but I believe there is treatment. Good Luck!
