Narcolepsy is managed with a combination of medication and behavior modification. The later includes regular bed time schedule as well as scheduled napping. One concern, if the medication is not working, is whether you have developed an additional sleep problem such as sleep apnea or periodic limb movements. There are also other medications you can try. Drug holidays are not effective in my experience. Is your MD board certfied in sleep medicine? If you are looking for a second opinion you may not be communicating effectively with your physician.
