Sleep Apnea

Posted by JRookard on February 02, 1998 at 18:26:02:

A few months ago I was diagnoised with what was termed a mild case of sleep apnea. After spending the night at the hospital's sleep lab I was told I stopped breathing 10% of the time and could certainly "call the hogs" if I wanted to do that professionally. In any event, I was refered to another physician who wants to perform a surgical procedure called Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP). Needless to say, the last time I was in the hospital to my knowledge was when I was born some 43 years ago. I guess in away I'm afraid to "go under the knife (or laser)" just out of plain fear. Anyone who has experienced this procedure and it's after affects, I would be most interested to here from regarding their experiences pro's and con's.
