Posted by Jeff on February 05, 1998 at 16:09:47:After finding nothing showing that female hormones are used to treat obstructive apnea in men, I have exchanged letters with my doctor. He states that according to his reference source, Scientific American Medicine updated 7/97, that Medroyprogesterone (one of the major female hormones) is a recognized treatment for men and women suffering obstructive sleep apnea. Can anyone confirm or dispute this?
On CPAP for a year and a half - not effective, 120 events per hour, sleeping 16+ hours a day, never rested, temper out of control, unable to effectively work or make money, marriage being effected, personal life being effected, rapidly gaining weight, not a candidate for surgery, PPO excludes damn near everything, relatively little medical testing being done, medical treatment thus far has been a joke, I AM AT MY WITS END! Can't somebody or something help me?
