Information not intended as medical advice.

No sleep stages 3 and 4

Posted by Tessie on February 05, 1998 at 18:45:42:

My husband has suffered from severe fatigue for years. Medical doctors have been stumped, intense psychotherapy didn't help, and alternative medicine attempts have had only a limited effect. He recently went for a sleep study and he woke up 43 times. He never did go into stage 3 or 4 sleep (0%). He is now in a research study and is on Klonopin for sleep.

I haven't been able to get any information on lack of restorative sleep. What is the prognosis for something like this, and could this be the source of the exhaustion he feels? He can't get the answers he needs.
