If the change from effectiveness of the drug to ineffectiveness was rather sudden, or over a short time period, the first question that comes to mind is whether your pharmacy has switched you from the brand name ritalin to a generic, or if you were taking a generic, if you received a generic from another manufacturer. I know what the FDA and the doctors say, but in fact generics can create major problems. I have narcolepsy and nocturnal myoclonus, for which I have been taking lorazepam every night for the last 3-4 years, same dosage. My pharmacy gave me a generic they received from another company - AND IT WAS LIKE TAKING ALMOST NOTHING! I really had problems. I called my doctor and got a prescription for the brand name and I could not believe the difference.
