first of all, if your dr treats you like that, you need to find a new one. Is your CPAP administered through a home health agency? If so you should ask them to try different masks and I have what is called a comfort flap on my mask which helps with the air leaks. Also I found the cap cumbersome and I switched to a soft velcro headgear. If you don't use hom health, ask the dr to recommend one and usually a pulmonary therapis will assist you.
I don't htink there's anything to worry about the flashes. I have had them before and I would think that they were like sparks. But I haven't started on fire yet.Remember, you are in charge of your medical care, don't feel obligated to stay with a doc if you're not comfortable or not treated to your liking. I've been know to tell my drs if I feel they have treated me unfairly. Most are willing to hear you out. If they don't, FIRE THEM. They are working for you not the other way around!
