I am a senior nursing student and one of my male patients is getting depo orally for his respiratory status. The research that I have found indicates that the hormones suppress the immune response thereby causing a decrease in swelling. I am at a med-teaching hospital and this is the explanation that I was given. If anyone has any other information regarding this drug for resp. status please let me know at the email posted. We will undoubtedly see this unlabeled drug use more and more. It apparently works well. My patient has had no more respiratory distress.
