Posted by Louise on February 24, 1998 at 19:25:06:I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea 1 year ago for which I started using CPAP within a month. However, I'm still constantly tired and falling asleep at the most inconvenient times and I can't fight off sleep. My specialist says the CPAP only halves my episodes from 88 times per hour to 45. His other 2 suggestions are a dental appliance or throat surgery. I've heard enough opinions about the surgery and I'd prefer not to take that route, but I haven't heard anything about the dental appliance to get other opinions. I also have a perfect bite and fear that it my destroy it. I'd welcome any feedback from your experiences because I also understand that you can not try the device before investing the $12,000 purchase price. Thanks in advance.
