I've been on CPAP since June, 95 after being diognosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea. Didn't realize how bad it was until I began using CPAP. Before, I walked around all day in a near trance and even fell asleep while shaving in the morning. Driving was OK except for the poor sucker coming towards me, Last June I drove accross the country in two days wide awake! I take the CPAP machine wherever I go and will not go to sleep without it, even in the RV (works on 12V DC also) . Initial break in took about two weeks. At first I wanted to throw it out the window, but felt soo good after a decent nights sleep I stayed with it and now feel very uncomfortable without it. Some real positive advantages besides the primary purpose of giving you a fantastic night's sleep without choking, croaking, or running the rest of the family out of the house at night. Use the optional paper pollen filter and you will reap the benefit of super clean air while your neigbors are choking on all that nasty stuff floating around. In dry climates such as here in Nv. a personal humidifier also adds to your health and comfort. Good luck and enjoy being awake. I'd like to here from other CPAP users.
