CO2 rebreathing with BIPAP masks

Posted by Barbara Metzler on March 08, 1998 at 10:46:13:

Are there any problems with CO2 rebreating with various masks?
What data is available?
Which masks are best to reduce CO2 rebreathing?
Can an elevated CO2 of 35 mmol/l (range of 22-31 on Chem 20) result from using a particular mask? My husband uses a Monarch Mini Mask (Respironics) with a Fisher & Paykel Respiratory Humidifier with his BiPAP Duet(Respironics) Machine.
