waking too early

I was diagnosed with a sleep disorder 20 years ago. Basicaly, if I don't keep good sleep habits, my sleep time fragments and I don't get good quality sleep. Recently, I have been waking as much as an hour and 1/2 earlier than I should. I remain in bed dozing - I am not wide awake all this time, but I tend to be very tired mid-afternoon. At this point I take a "power nap," for about 30 minutes often sitting upright.
I'd like to get through the days with out this. Should I go to my sleep clinic for a re-evaluation? Should I just tough it out for a few days and my schedule will right itself? Do I actually need less sleep becaujse I've gotten older and the morning dozing is fragmenting my pattern? Suggestions?
Lin
