Apparently sleep and bedwetting is related. We had the alarm system for a while that went off when our son wet, an loud alarm. It woke us up in the next room, but he slept right trough it. That's how deeply he sleeps. I do not think this is considered a sleep disorder. What I have read is that is a hormonal timing in each child's life. Our son's didn't kick in until he was 11. Since both my husband and I have had surgery for bladder problems, once we ruled out that as a problem for him, we just played it down, waited, gave him an easy out for not spending the night at others' house that he wasn't comfortable about the issue. You would be surprised at how many children struggle with this, hopefully they are not suffering with added shame from something that is out of their control. Hang in there! Praise him for the other good stuff he accomplishes.
