I have a five and a half year old girl who refuses to sleep. I have done all the things you have done. I have taken her to the doctor and even spoken to her teacher. I am very concerned because in September she will be in Grade 1 and I know she will be so exhausted after a full day of school.

What she does is she wakes up in the night and roams the house, maybe gets a snack, watches a little TV, (yes at 3 in the morning), so not only is she at risk for safety reasons, I have no idea what she is watching at that hour. She does not wake us up anymore and we do not hear her. I have tried everything to keep her in her room until 7 am, bribery, threatening, everything.

Please any suggestions. One time I found her playing in the garage at 5 am. What can I do. Is there other suggestions you may have. But let me tell you after reading your story, I am on my way to the pharmacy to buy iron supplements for her. Wish me luck.

Thank you,
Carol
