Hi Lynne,

Those specifications you gave indicate an AC-only CPAP machine (AC is the stuff that comes out of your wall outlet). You can make an AC unit work using a battery but it requires an inverter, which converts AC to DC.

There are units that take both AC and DC. For example (there are others), the Solo line of Respironics are specified as using

"Electrical Requirements: 115 VAC/230 VAC; 12 VDC"

You can see this at
http://www.respironics.com/interactive/main-sleep.html

There are other manufacturers that make similar units.

Don't hestitate to ask me any questions.

Mark

P.S.

Just for fun, let's see if I can embed some HTML in this response:

Hi Mark

If this works I can make real hotlinks.
