air leakage while using a CPAP

Posted by Carlos on December 14, 1999 at 03:04:16:

I am currently using a Respironics GoldSeal mask and the corresponding head-gear. When my head is up (resp. down) the mask is much too tight (resp. loose). Does this happen with other people and/or with other masks? Was this mention for somebody else?. Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

I am having the impression that if the headgear (mentioned above) was constructed with the same principle that the one used in the Respironics Monark Mini-mask: "the head-gear supported in the skull only and not on the neck" (see pictures at Conjo Distributing); then the pair headgear-mask would work really fine. The headgear of this mini-mask has a sort of rings encircling the ears. The rings are needed to avoid that two of the straps of the headgear pass over the ears.

Please, does somebody know where to buy the velcro and the heavy-duty elastics that are used to make up the headgears? Thank you very much for everything. Carlos :)
