respironics,inc / bi-pap airway management system question

Posted by mark l. cooney on January 26, 2000 at 15:38:09:

I have a friend who has had sleep apnea for a long time and she uses a Respironics,Inc Bi-PAP airway management system (model#332202 ) I live far away from her but would like to do something nice for her. She lives in a remote area of the United States. If she loses electricity where she lives she has arraignment with a local hosp. to check in for the night so she can use her Bi-Pap machine. She does not travel far where as she may require sleep on the road. Can her Bi-Pap machine be supplied power by an Invertor, that converts dc 12v to 120v in an automobile. There are several available. I had her read me the info /specs. off the Bi-Pap but not sure what would be best suited for this application. Should I contact an electrician to be sure of power requirements. I sure would give her more freedom. At least she could stop on the road to nap or not have to drive treacherous roads in the middle of the night to get to a hosp. if she loses power in bad weather..Thanx to anyone with any info on this.I appreciate it !
