You have several recommendations here. Stuart is on track saying you need to get it checked out now, find out what you have and the severity and then look at treatmen options. Not all treatments are expensive but first you need to know exactly what you have. Treatments vary from CPAP, oral devices, surgery, positional therapy, weight loss sometimes helps but very seldom does it cure, and the newest somnoplasty (shrink the soft palate, for snoring only), etc. Still number 1 find out what is going on with a visit to a sleep lab where they may do an ambulatory, home study, to keep the cost down.
