Adult Sleep Walking and Acting Out of Character

Posted by Jerry on April 07, 1998 at 15:00:21:

I am very concerned about a close friend of mine, Shawn.
He has been a sleep walker all his life and over the past year it is getting worse. Shawn is in his late 20's and has absolutly no recoletion of any sleep walking occerances. However it has also not concerned him much as nothing worse than being found starring at the wall in the kitchen has occered befor now.
This past weekend Shawn was out drinking (heavily) with some friends who came back to his house to sleep. At some time in the night one of Shawn's house guests was awakened when Shawn was disrobing him and expecting to have oral sex. The house guest was enraged and physically pushed Shawn away. After the house guest was able to wake another person who was in the house that person found Shawn asleep in his bed and woke him with an angry punch to the face. Startled Shawn claimed no knolage of the incident and several days later still can't beleave that he could do such a thing.

Could you please tell me if such sleep walking incedents are possible and if so what can be done to help Shawn (who is extreamly remorse and distraught over the incident).
