Food and Insomnia

Posted by Sundancr on April 09, 1998 at 11:43:54:

We all know that caffine causes sleeplessness. I am very sensitive to caffine and have not had any coffee or caffinated soda in 2 1/2 years. Is there any possibility that sleeplessness is also caused by other foods or chemicals found in foods such as preservatives or dyes that are so far unreported. For instance, everytime I eat beef I suffer from insomnia for 1-5 days. I served a rib roast for Christmas Eve dinner and didn't sleep for 15 days straight. I have heard that they are using new drugs and /or chemicals with beef in their feed and also new drugs to increase milk production and other techniques to enhance the fresh red color. Could it be that some of these chemicals are causing insomnia in some people?
