About 18 months ago, my wife and I purchased a king-size Select Comfort mattress (the one pitched by Paul Harvey and other radio personalities, to replace our waterbed mattress.

I weigh about 300 lbs., and my wife weighs about 150, so you can see that with a waterbed, if one of us was not in bed (whether off on a trip for several days, or just going to bed at different times), the firmness of our waterbed was not consistent.

We got the top of the line waterbed replacement mattress, which has two separate "air mattresses," which are attached to a remotely controlled compressor. At any time, even while the other person is sleeping, we can adjust our own side of the bed, individually, and not disturb the other, even when the compressor is running.

I have found that it is more comfortable for me to have my side of the bed much softer than my wife's side. When we first got the mattress, however, I had my side much harder.

You can contact the Select Comfort company at 1-800-344-6561. They will finance the purchase of a mattress, if need be. When you purchase a mattress, you sleep on it for 90 nights, before you are charged for the mattress.

Good sleeping!!
