I do use the spacer, and it was measured as the correct distance at the sleep lab. I have recently found that loosening the straps has made the leaking decrease. Now I've tried adding a simple sleep mask (the kind that blocks the light when you are trying to sleep during the day). If I tuck the sleep mask under the gel mask, then I get more air leakage, and big red marks on my nose and cheeks. But if I keep the sleep mask above the gel mask, the air still leaks, but very little of it gets through the sleep mask to my eyes. Once my insurance issues resolve, I will consider other kinds of masks. Also I like to turn from side to side so the mask fitting has to accomodate that. thanks for all the feedback.
