sleep apnea in 3 yr old male

Posted by Deanna on April 17, 1998 at 15:38:05:

Hi. i have been reading some of the postings here with interest. My son is believed to have sleep apnea. He started having blue episodes last month where his fingers and lips would turn blue but otherwise he was fine. So the doctor decided to check him with a pulse oximeter. Anyway, things came around and we found out that he was desatting at ngiht in deep sleep. Usually several times a night. With a low of 72 so far.We took him to a pulmonary doc yesterday and they are going to do a "nap" study in a couple weeks . Is there something else I should be doing. As his mother I am just so scared that something will happen. He has an extensive medical history as well. Including laryngomalacia. Any tips will be well appreciated . I am relly starting to feel out of my league ont his one.
