Strange vibes...Please help!

Posted by Savanna on April 22, 1998 at 17:08:51:

I have been experiencing two strange sensations associated with sleep that I am concerned about. I have lupus which can cause neurological problems, and am worried... So, if this is normal, please let me know!!
OK, the first thing usually happens as I'm falling asleep. I am very, very relaxed, but definitely awake, and I realize that I cannot feel my body. I could not tell you what position my limbs are in, cannot feel my body touching the bed (except my head) I can move and as soon as I do, the sensation vanishes. This started about six months ago, and I wasn't worried until this new thing started recently... I will awaken to feel my body "vibrating" almost like shivering, but finer in texture if that makes any sense. The first time it happened, I thought we were having an earthquake tremor, but later realized that it was me that was shaking and not the bed. Does anyone else do this or know what causes it?? Thanks ...Savanna
