Turbinectomy as treatment for sleep apnea?

Posted by Alan on April 24, 1998 at 18:50:52:

I was diagnosed with moderate obstructive sleep apnea and have started using CPAP. However, I find CPAP to be horribly invasive and am exploring surgical options. I happen to also have rhinitis and have read about laser-assisted turbinectomy as a procedure for addressing both chronic nasal congestion and sleep apnea. Has anyone undergone this procedure, or does anyone know anything about its effectiveness? Any info would be appreciated.
