I have had the same problem before. I still do if I am especially stressed. If it is at all possible slow some down some. I tried several things. It may be you are so busy you don't get relaxed enough to fall asleep until morning. This is where slowing down comes in. College is much different than high school. Your body is probably use to the hours you were able to keep in high school. You need to start your "pre-bed ritual" (brushing teeth, if you shower at night, if you are on any medication, ect.) earlier than you did at home. The early you can finish studying,
assignments, projects, ect. the better.
I don't know if you have a roommate you have to consider, but I had to sleep with the lights on so it would not feel so dark and so alone. I also got in sort of a "schedule". I started taping the shows I watched in the late night hours when I couldn't sleep and I would put them on earlier than they normally came on to sort of trick myself as to what time it was. The schedule was my security blanket. Everything was there (on tape) like it was the night before. It had a calming, comfortable effect on me. Anyway, hope some of these tips work?
