My comments are a follow up to the connection between the drinking of tap water and the getting of less sleep.

I live in Japan. I have heard that the water here is highly chorinated--my number 1 suspect for now.

In an attempt to get more information about water filters, I have been reading Consumer Reports. They suggest a water test first. But in reviewing their information, it seems that the critical question--at least to determine the type of filter--is if the water has parasites which would require a far more expensive device. If there is a very unlikely connection between parasites and less sleep, I should consider the top--rated less expensive devices that Consumer Reports recommend and see what happens. Based on my current awareness, I see little value in getting the water tested or opting for the expensive filters that also filter out the parasites too--which probably do not exist, but only a guess. But more information would be comforting.
