Posted by BAS4 on May 02, 1998 at 07:27:47:I just began using a CPAP machine after years of snoring and mild sleep apnea. I've been told that it takes some getting used to. My main problem right now is that I have a lot of trouble exhaling- I don't feel like all of the air is being removed from my lungs and get left with a shortness of breath feeling. I find myself repeatedly removing the mask and taking a few breaths through my mouth to satisfactory exhale. Does anyone have any suggestions about coping with this problem or is it just a matter of adjusting to the CPAP? Thanks.
