Posted by Robert West on May 02, 1998 at 09:09:46:I have been on the sleep apnea merry-go-round for the last 2 years or more. I have had the sinus diviated septum operation, the UPPP operation, 4 or 5 sleep studies, 5 different CPAP machines, numerous masks, chin straps, medications (Paxil-Elavil) I still have the morning headache and congestion (flu like symptom). I sleep with a good chin strap. My problem is that whatever I do I still breathe through my mouth while sleeping. Other than taping my lips closed while sleeping and maybe not waking up I would appricate any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this problem. The doctor does not feel that I am over weight, just about 6 inches too short. I can't understand it,I am 250 lbs of solid bones and flab. All kidding aside I could use some advice on this problem.Thank you.
