Could also be phase advance circadian rhythm disorder (jet-lag without the travel). Search sleep sites on circadian rhythms for insomnia info. Very bright light late in the evening can push the body's sleep cycle later into the day, pushing wakeup time later into morning at a more acceptable time. See a sleep disorders center near you for help in implimenting.

sleeping pills should not be used for insomnia for more than a few days to a couple of weeks!
