jumping and weird feeling

I'm a 24 yr old male and i have had this problem falling to sleep for about 7 years. Right befor i fall asleep i get this weird feeling of loosing "consciousness" and it makes me jump to catch myself. This happens 7 to 10 time a night. if there is any one who knows what this could be please help.
