I'm a claims examiner for a health insurance company. Just wanted to warn you that a lot of insurance companies will not pay for UPPP yet. So before you schedule your surgery, check with your insurance to pre-authorized the surgery.

Insurance companies typically will be more inclined to allow the LAUP instead of the UPPP. Either way, most do not allow either unless you have tried CPAP and have been unsuccessful with CPAP therapy.
