My dentist discovered that I am grinding my teeth in my sleep. We made a plastic cast of my upper teeth and I wear this retainer-like thing to sleep. It was about $200, but I don't grind the teeth together, and it stopped some wicked headaches. For growing kids, this may not work, but it's worth asking.
