Using CPAP with heavy congestion

Posted by Sleepless in Florida on May 15, 1998 at 19:57:59:

I'm brand new at using CPAP. I think the machine is doing
what it's supposed to do. That is, when I sleep it's without the apnea. But I have a chronic and very heavy upper respiratory infection. I sleep about 40 minutes, then the drip wakes me up. Does anybody else have experience with this problem? Any suggestions for me? (I just started taking Augmentin antibiotic as well as Allegra and Nazeril. I'm desperate. I really want to use the CPAP but it's darn difficult with the congestion, and in Florida I'm congested most of the time. Thanks!!!
